A Retiree Investor visa exists for retirees who are 55 years or over and have the ability to make a designated investment in Australia. The amount of the designated investment, as stipulated by the Migration Regulations, varies among the different States and Territories.

South Australia is lucky enough to be a low population area and therefore the government of South Australia can sponsor Retiree Investors that wish to live and invest in South Australia. The benefit of investing in South Australia is that a lower designated investment is required in order to satisfy visa requirements.

The Retiree Investor visa is a temporary visa and is valid for a period up to 4 years. After this time, visa renewals may be made for a further 4 years and similar provisions apply in relation to the designated investment.
